The house that dreams are made of

I grew up in a small town in western Illinois where home prices were affordable, people were kind and public school education was excellent. After an extended visit home this summer and driving past the house oh, twenty times in ten days (plus roughly 100 times in my 18 years living there) I decided to call the owner to see if I could have just a peek inside.

I've dreamt about what it might look like inside. I've painted the entry way and baked crossiants in the kitchen. I've had guests over for dinner, summer parties and my husbands barber shop all in place. And after just one quick phone call it was settled. I was finally going to be able to meet this gorgeous home.

So, I share with you as much as I could fit into my viewfinder. Grab some sort of midwestern snack and enjoy this [my] beautiful home.

When a 900 sq ft home goes up for sale in our Denver neighborhood at 200k+ I sigh and think of this beauty on the Rock River and feel lucky that I had the opportunity to experience it.

Stacy- I read the first comment and totally thought "that sounds like stacy!!" I agree.. Anthropologie could save some bucks by doing their next shoot in a little home in Illinois!

  12. I just did a market analysis on this for the current owner and was amazed at how original all the details were. Veroica is my assistant and told me you posted on it. Built in 1875 and may be for sale soon!
